Up In the Air

Today B and I saw Up in the Air.  I had read about it and knew it was about a man (George Clooney) who went to companies and downsized their staff - or as he put it - fired workers for bosses who had no courage to do it themselves.  I had known that they changed some of the original movie due to our economic situation.  I still wonder how people who have been laid off feel when they watch the movie.  This is actually a somewhat lighthearted comedy with some real questions about what is really important in life as well.  The story was well-written with some very clever lines.  It was well-acted and well-paced and I thought very enjoyable.  I was reminded of my very recent visit to cold and snowy Milwaukee in a few scenes.  It always bothers me when I see that kind of climate and yet we see nobody's breath.  Oh well, just one of my pet peeves. I would recommend this movie to everyone - not as a great movie but as a nice, enjoyable way to spend two hours.
